Use of Images

A picture is worth 1000 words, particularly on your website. Select images that communicate your value proposition, describe your product or service, or references a keyword phrase. Carefully select your images to be similar in style and color with other images on a page and or on your website.

For example, don't mix drawings, photographs, sketches, and stick figure images, unless there is a clear reason to do so. The more your images create the feeling of a comprehensive, integrated presentation, the more your reader will value what you have to say and appreciate the thought that was taken to create your website.

There are many excellent websites, such as www.istockphoto.com that sell quality photographs under license for use on your website. Also with today's digital cameras, it is easy to take photographs of your own that add value to your website. There are also a number of good graphic management software packages, they can be used to easily create images for your website.
